Does my neighbor steal my internet connection?

I have a home desk computer, and she has a laptop.
She told me she doesn’t even pay for internet, which i’m guessing she steals the signal.
How do i know if she’s stealing my internet connection or not? if she is, what can i do?
because it isn’t fair for me to be paying internet, and she’s just stealing it from me.

How can my arms be comfortable at a computer desk?

My arms are starting to get uncomfortable – I have a computer desk that I use with my laptop for work at home. I end up leaning my arms on the table edge a lot – how can I avoid this?

What is the best Laptop to buy if only for Minimal Use?

I want to buy a laptop and the only reason would be to watch some NETFLIX from my bed instead of having to sit at my computer desk at home. I also would probably check emails and such, but really, nothing to fancy.

I do not need to buy a new one, and was looking on eBay, and I just don’t know what brand, RAM, nothing for this new adventure.

Any suggestions for this? Obviously I need WIFI as I am going to be online. Thank-you so much for your ideas. I am at a loss with so many options.

Pros and cons of using a laptop as a home comp?

We already have a home computer, but Im looking to get my own, and since my room is slightly small, I dont have room for a real home setup. But I DO have room for a laptop. I will keep it on my desk, and probably only use it for a couple of hours a day. Im just wondering what the pros and cons of using a laptop as my home computer are. Like, is it bad if I leave it plugged in for more then a few hours at a time? And if anyone else uses a laptop as there home comp, and has any advice, I would really aprecciate it! Thanks :b

Please help out this desperate computer dummie if you can …. I will be in a padded cell soon if I go on, LOL?

Hi,
I would appreciate any advice or input you all can give me on how to link my laptop and desk top together. I am so lost in it all I don’t know if its networking I need to learn about or something called remote access!

what I am needing to accomplish is to be able to access my desktop home computer and all it holds from my laptop where ever I may be that I don’t have direct access to the home computer.

With my luck this probably isn’t even possible and it just wishful thinking on my part but Im not giving up yet. I may not be a wireless genius but I would swear that this is not just possible but pretty common practice as well. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help. LOL

Kidding aside, I don’t think its something that you all can sit down and type out for me and if it is it must be way more than anyone wants to get involved with and I don’t blame you. What I am hoping is that maybe someone can direct me to a tutorial (free one please) online that will get me thru it or a customer service number from some company that can walk me thru it. Any info is better than where I am with it at this point.

Thank you for reading and for any and all help I receive.

oh, one more thing. I also need to know how to be able to print something from my laptop wirelessly to the same printer that is hooked to my home desk top. I was told this was simple but I just am clueless to this kind of thing!

Thank you again.

I am signed in to yahoo Messenger if anyone needs to ask me anything or maybe could help me out that way. My ID is sunpixie712.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!!

What are the advantages or disadvantages of buying a desktop computer fo home use?

I have a decent laptop computer but my desktop is obsolete. I use the desktop for homeowner business, paying bills, letter writing, storing and processing photos. I am not a gamer and don’t need space on my desk. Am I dumb for still wanting a desktop computer in this age of wireless networks?

When using my laptop as desk computer with power plugged in, should I take out the battery?

I have a new Vostro 1400 laptop with 2 batteries for backup when traveling, but I use it for my home computer too. I’ve been keeping a battery in it, but also using the charger plug-in. Is this bad for the battery? Should I take out the battery when I use house power or take out the charger plug-in until the Dell warns me that the battery is low?

Is it OK to rely on a laptop for all your computer needs?

Are laptops supposed to be mainly for travel ,or is it ok to rely solely on a laptop for the home computer?Ever since my PC broke down I’ve been using my laptop as my primary computer.I never take it off my home desk.It stays there just like a desk top PC.I rarely even close the top down. When Im done I just shut it off and leave it open.
Is this detremental,or harmful to the shelf life etc.?Is this appropriate ussage or should I have to purchase a PC?If so,What are the advantages to owning a PC v.s a laptop?

Is it possible My laptop and home desk computer bomb at the sametime?

I don’t understand this. I have a Gateway laptop less than 6months old (Vista OS), and a desk tower computer. Neither will completely boot up. It looks like it’s going to, but it stops at a certain point where I am able to choose how I want it to start. No matter what I try it comes back to that same screen.
I use Comcast Cable Co. for my internet provider; the computers are not networked together. I also Use Netgear for wireless (laptop).
It’s odd that they both happened at the same time. Is it possible it could be something to do with Comcast cable (internet provider)? I don’t want to loose all of my pictures on my laptop, and I heard recovery cost a lot of $$
